about

If you've seen me in 2019, you've heard this. It's an instrumental I perform, originally devised as a showcase of all my MiMu Glove tricks. The theme dates back a long time - maybe 2001??? - but has lived in Writer's Block hell for many years. In Spring 2019 I visited Japan with Drake Music to deliver workshops and showcase the gloves. I devised the first iteration of this for that trip; this final recording was inspired by my time in Japan even further.

At first it seemed slightly futile releasing this as a recording; Josefa Torres' amazing video is central to telling the story of what I do. But, I really enjoy the piece, and Adam "Nolly" Getgood did an extraordinary job mixing it. I was struggling to pull this out of the sounds I make live; Adam found the piece and gave it space to breath. Given how good it sounds, I figured I had to release it.
